But as I promised I want to give you a guide for what's in season for June so you are not wasting your time on unripe fruit. Annoying I know. Below then is your cheat sheet for Seasonal June Fruits. “Hot Chocolate is like a hug from the inside”  Well, I just got a hug and I didn’t let go. It’s been super chilly here in California, which I haven’t been happy about at all because I love the sunshine. But to cure that annoyance, I went to Amorino Beverly Hills for the Hot Chocolate Experience🤩. Enjoy a frothy cup of hot chocolate served on a wooden board. What you get: A cup of whipped cream Biscotti Cup of marshmallows Chunk of chocolate Oh, did I mention it comes with a small grater. How you choose to mix all these ingredients is up to you,

This past weekend I was really craving some good ice cream. I decided to go check out Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at The Commons of Calabasas. I’m not sure what has taken me so long to go, but this ice cream was beyond delicious. When you first walk in the store it is full of cheer and cute pinky colors, which makes me happy immediately. Then come the choices and flavors of ice cream. Do you want 1 scoop, 2 scoops, a cone or bowl. Then the flavors!! Jeni Britton, the owner of the chain store, is genius with her flavor combinations. Plus, she teams up

As long as I can remember my family has always made this Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake Recipe from scratch. It’s unbelievably good and will satisfy those with a real sweet tooth. I loved as a kid watching my aunt meticulously arrange the pineapples in the cake pan. Every time I would sneakily try to steal a pineapple from the countertop. Unfortunately, I always got caught. I couldn't help myself. I just love pineapples. It’s probably why I love this cake so much. On top of that you have the delightful cherries mixed it in. Oh, the cherries..mmmmm!! I call this cake the Mah Tai of

Cherry Blossom Tea During this time of Spring, I get so excited to see all the Cherry Blosoms coming to full bloom. The array of pinks and light pinks just makes me so happy and giddy I can hardly contain myself. What’s even better is that instead of just looking at the Cherry Blossoms you can also enjoy them in tea. You might ask can you really have cherry blossom tea? Well the answer is yes! Fresh cherry blossoms and leaves are preserved in salt and then used in teas and/or sweets. If you really want to bring out the color of the blossoms, add plum vinegar to

It's buttery and perfect for breakfast or brunch. This delicious Raspberry Coffee Cake with Streusel Topping disappeared from my kitchen too fast. The whole family loves it. The good thing is that this recipe is pretty straightforward, so it won't be an issue to make another. With every bite you get the right amount of raspberry. Plus, with the streusel topping, which is my favorite it is just so divine. Give this recipe a try and tell me how it goes. Raspberry Coffee Cake with Streusel Topping Raspberry Coffee Cake With Streusel Topping Rich, buttery and perfectly moist Raspberry Coffee Cake with Streusel Topping. Perfect for breakfast or brunch! For the Streusel1/2

May Seasonal Fruits I’m a big stickler about fresh produce and using ingredients that are in season. I mean I get it. Sometimes you really want that cherry pie or apple crisp. But, are those fruits in season during the time you are making it? The issue is mass produced grocery stores really care less about if something is in season. They just want you to buy. However, when you get home and cut up your oranges, they are not sweet or your watermelon is mushy. Not cool! So here on Captured Desserts I will make a list each month of the fruits that are in season for

I was invited to a picnic and I was told to bring a dessert of my choice. My mind begins to race. Would the host prefer cake, a hand friendly dessert or something decantant. WHATTTTT?!?!?!?!?! I decided to go with my tried and true recipe of Sea-Salted Peanut Brittle. Lets be clear, I have made this many times. With my time frame, since I decided at the last minute what I was going to make, I knew this recipe would work. It’s fast and it’s really hard to mess it up. Luckily I pretty much had all the ingredients… well, except for the most important part the

Hello and welcome to my first blog post for Captured Desserts. I'm so excited I finally have it up and running!! (Insert Oprah voice.. haha). It's been a long time coming. I have always loved to bake, set pretty tables and photograph them since I was a little girl. My mom can attest to that. Now that I have a platform where I can do what I love and share it all with you is a true dream. Life is what you make it. So make it sweet! On this blog I will share recipes, what inspires me, local farmers markets and so much more. I will use
